Multi-instrumentalist and award winning artist Sandra-Mae Lux, is back on the soul scene with a limited edition 7” vinyl pressing of 2020’s rare groove classic “I’m Still Here.” But it gets better – the flip side of this audiophile pressing features a brand new, never released original track “The Last Time.” A former native of Vancouver (Canada), this talented and dynamic singer/songwriter/producer first came to prominence on the UK scene with her 2020 original album “Happily Ever Now.” With a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies on Saxophone, Sandra-Mae has twice appeared at the Ottawa Jazz Festival where she met and performed with many recognized artists such as Robert Glasper, Herbie Hancock and opened for Dave Brubeck. She was nominated as Best UK Artist in the 2020 Bright Star Awards. Sandra-Mae was also nominated as Jazz Artist of the Year in the Boisdales Music Awards presented by Jools Holland. Sandra-Mae Lux is a Recording Academy / GRAMMYs ® Voting Member.
Originally recorded as part of the album “Happily Ever Now” during lockdown in 2020, “I’m Still Here” stands out as one of the shining gems of this outstanding piece of work. It quickly caught the attention of the UK Soul scene and instantly acquired rare-groove status among soul aficionados. The hauntingly dreamy track caught the ears of Gilles Peterson, Craig Charles, Patrick Forge and many more DJs through out the UK. This AA audiophile vinyl of “I’m Still Here” distributed to Global Soul, also contains brand new track “The Last Time” as an added bonus. Exclusive to vinyl release, this lush mid-tempo ballad, reminiscent of Quincy Jone in his Patti Austin phase, is a perfect compliment to the already classic “I’m Still Here.”
