Two giant recordings by Diplomats of Soul are release here back to back on this official release for the first time. Both songs are rare groove classics, masterfully re-created with the help of arranger and producer Jean ‘Bluey’ Maunick of Incognito, Citrus Sun and originally Light of The World. “I Love You” was written by Don Blackman and originally recorded by Weldon Irvine in 1975. It was given it’s first radio spin exclusively by Gilles Peterson late last year on the back of its limited edition now sold out fans edition release. It features vocals by Natalie Duncan. “Teacherman” was first issued by the artist Barbara St. Clair in 1976, but extremely rare and sought after with DJs paying vast fortunes for the original pressing. This version features Cheri V on vocals who, like Natalie, currently sings with Incognito.
